Deepika Padukone knows a thing
or two about making a statement with her sartorial choices. After flying out of
Mumbai in a not-so-basic version of the classic trench coat this weekend, the
star attended the 26th Annual Crystal Awards in an equally impactful look. Part
of the World Economic Forum which is currently taking place in Davos,
Switzerland, the 2020 Crystal Awards marked a big moment for Padukone, who
received an award for her contribution in the field of mental health. For the
occasion, the 34-year-old opted for a purple gown from Alex Perry’s
spring/summer 2020 collection. Her outfit not only stood out for its

Along with a wide neckline
that drew attention to her décolletage, Deepika Padukone’s Alex Perry gown also
came with structured power shoulders and cascading cape sleeves that instantly
added some drama to her look. Along with that, the fabric of her ensemble came
together in an interesting knot at the waist too. The body-hugging number
perfectly complemented Padukone’s curves, and was accessorised with nothing but
a pair of chandelier earrings by Mahesh Notandass.
